Our Action

 

1) Evangelization and transform the students’ milieu.

2) Greater awareness of YCS on the social issues and action for a just world, especially in students’ milieu.

3) Formation of animators, chaplains and student leaders base on Christian values.

4) Integration of ASC 2006 Orientation in the formation programs

5) Strengthening the national and international coordination towards unity

6) Mobilize sufficient human, financial resources and advocacy materials.

 

 

The functions of the IYCS Asian Secretariat

 

With the above goals, YCS has a mission of becoming a Formative, Transformative and Liberative Movement. Asian Coordination Team carries out the following functions of the Secretariat such as:

 

1. Consolidating and co-coordinating the life of the different YCS Movements in Asia, through Visitations, Communications and Consultations.

 

2. Organizing and Facilitating Formation Programs, Study Sessions, Immersion Programs at Local & International level. The Asian Secretariat also extends its services to Student & Youth Groups other than YCS.

 

3. Extension Work: We initiate and support the sharing of the YCS spirituality to students in countries where there is no YCS, and as well in countries where YCS is only present in a few dioceses.

 

4. Representation and Collaboration: We voice out the concerns & hopes of Youth, especially that of Secondary (High) School students in forums of Civil Society (UN, NGOs etc.) and the Church (FABC and other bodies)

 

We network and collaborate with likeminded movement and bodies such as:

 * Federation of Asian Bishops Conferences (Office of Laity - Youth Desk, Office of Human Development, Office of Ecumenical & Inter-Religious Affairs, Office of Social Communication)

 * International Catholic Organization, Ecumenical Youth & Student Movements.

             * Other Religious as well as Secular Student and   Youth Groups, NGOs & Peoples Movements.

 

 5. Publications:  Our Publications include the IYCS Asian Newsletter, Reports, Postcards, Posters and Resource Material.

 

6. International Solidarity:  We try to make the students & youth aware of violations of Human Rights, Promotion of Ecological Integrity, initiate, support and encourage student’s involvement in Solidarity rescue efforts caused by natural calamites.

 

7. Fund - Raising: We organize Fund - Raising campaigns to continue the Asian co-ordination and dependency on the generosity of the National Movements, ex-members, Partner Development Agencies, friends and supporters.
